Combine Unit
Combine Header Unit
1. If you are pregnant, have back problems, and /or heart problems; you are NOT allowed to run!
2. NCCFC derby officials reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.
3. All persons must sign the release sheet and receive a pit pass to be permitted in the pit area or on the track.
4. Any driver or crewmember disobeying the rules will cause his or her combine to be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike conduct
will not be tolerated.
5. NCCFC will not be held responsible vehicles, parts, or personal property before, during, or after the show or overnight.
6. No persons under 16 years of age allowed in the pit, including before during and after the event.
7. Derby officials may accept or reject any and all entries.
8. All combines must be inspected and approved by derby officials.
9. No radio helmet or no communications with driver are allowed during the contest.
11. Alcohol and/or drug use is prohibited before or during the event and is grounds for immediate rejection.
12. No offensive language or pictures will be permitted.
13. The decision of the judges and derby officials will be final.
14. All drivers must have a valid drivers license to drive in the derby.
15. Driver and 2 crew members will be admitted to fairgrounds for free,
when they come through gate with a combine.

General Combine Safety Rules
Sponsors
- Each Driver is required to complete an entry and provide their own combine prepared in accordance with the rules and safety requirements of the event
- We are limited to 12 machines. The first 12 to send in entry forms will get a spot and receive $300.00 for participating. There is no limit to how many combines each person can bring
- Combine number must be painted on both sides and the top of the combine
Combine Unit
- Disconnect all drive belts to threshing unit, grain table, and remove straw chopper
- Fuel tank must be mounted inside the grain tank
- All combines must have a cab with seat belts installed
- All window glass must be removed from the unit, including all head and tail lights
- Remove ladder to cab
- Remove unloading auger from grain tank
- No reinforcement plates or shields can be added to protect the transmission drive belts, wheel and tires
- Must have bar welded to the front and left side of the cab to protect driver
Combine Header Unit
- Grain table must be used in derby, if torn off the unit will be disqualified (should be welded to combine).
- Remove Reel—Sickle bar—Guards and Floating cutter bar
- Head must be fastened solid to combine
- Head must be no lower than 15” or higher than 21” from the bottom of the header to the ground.
- Hydraulic hose to cylinder must be removed. There can be NO lift action on header from the cab, and welded rigid so it cannot move up or down

- ransporting of vehicles to and from the event must meet Indiana safety codes (tow bars, trailers, safety chains, and lights)

General Combine Safety Rules
- Safety belts and approved helmets with any eye shield must be worn during derby
- You cannot raise any combine more than 10” off the ground
- Drivers must operate in a responsible and safe manner at all times
- NO hitting with the rear end of the combine
- NO hitting opponent when they are out of bounds or out of contest
- Time limits are 5 minutes for “Start Engine” and “Make a Hit"
- All motion must be halted upon signal from derby officials in case of fire, injury or any other emergency
- Combine and all parts must be cleaned up and out of the area within 2 hours after the derby is over
- Judges' decision as to safety of each combine and operation is final
- Arguing with the officials will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiting of any prize money
- Drivers must wear pants and long sleeve shirt. NO SHORTS
- Neck brace and fire retardant suit is recommended for personal safety
- 13. Fire extinguisher is recommended at close reach in the driver’s compartment.
- A vehicle will be disqualified if the driver’s door comes open or catches fire
- No deliberate hitting of the driver’s door will be allowed - You will be disqualified
- Vehicle must have dependable brakes at all times and observe boundaries
- No vehicles are permitted in the competition area before the heat in which they are to participate
- Running order of heats and classes will be determined the day of the event
- An approximate one-minute time limit will be enforced by the track officials for making competitive contact with another combine; hits must be aggressive - No sandbagging
